Weekday Evening Walks 2026

We have had 4 lovely evening walks so far this year.  We've been walking in the area around Stroud because that's the area I know best, and also where I know the pubs!  Our first walk was just 2 days after the change to British Summer Time from Frampton Mansell - it was a joy to be set free after the dark evenings! 

After that, we walked from Woodchester, Horsley and Uley.  We've had lovely weather so far, even on the night with a bad forecast, and on average we've had 8 to 12 people on each walk and a drink afterwards in the pub.   

I've been planning and coordinating the walks so far but would be pleased if other members could suggest walks of 4 to 6 miles.  I'm aiming for one walk a fortnight rotating between Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday to allow for more people overall to come along on at least one walk.  We tend to set off at about 18:30 so that those of us that work have time to get to the start.
