Hari Budha MagarTalk 12th Feb 2026

A small crowd of club members attended the Courtyard (events venue) in Hereford on 12th February to see Hari Budha Magar talk. This was a fundraiser for the Hereford Veteran Support Centre.

Hari Madar Bughar is the first double above knee amputee to complete the Seven Summit Challenge (highest mountains on the seven traditional continents), the last to be completed was Mt Vinson, Antarctica, in January 2026.

This remarkable man, who grew up in the Nepalese countryside and then found a carer as a Gurkha spoke openly about the extent of the injuries he sustained from stepping on an IED in Afghanistan and how his life turned a corner. As much as you would probably want to hear about the summitting of mountains (which we did) he gave context to what was happening in and around those challenges, be it family life, designing limbs to climb with or how one raises the funds for such adventures.
