All About Us
Since its formation by a small, determined group of hill and mountain lovers in 1955 the Gloucestershire Mountaineering Club (GMC) has gone from strength to strength and now has a membership of over 120 mountaineers, climbers, walkers, ski tourers, mountain bikers and fell runners, its own hut in Snowdonia and a very active meets list.
In addition to the monthly pub meet (now at The Warehouse Climbing Centre, Parliament Street Gloucester) on the first Tuesday of every month, trips are organised to areas such as North Wales, the Lake District, Cornwall, the Peak District and Scotland. Also during the winter months the climbers in the club hone their skill on Tuesday evenings at the The Warehouse climbing centre in Gloucester.
Wales & Cefn Goch are Closed
Please note that the Cefn Goch remains closed for the foreseeable future and the GMC reminds all members that the recent government & BMC guidance does not apply in Wales. Travelling to Wyndcliff, the Brecon’s Snowdonia or elsewhere in Wales is against the Welsh government regulations and you risk a fine or being turned back.
